K and I may pass for twins. Tonight, we were at a friend’s house and a few times others mistook us because we were wearing similar clothing in blue. And it just dawned on me that K is physically catching up to me. She has grown so much over the past year and I was saddened. My baby was not a baby. Sooner or later, we may be able to share clothes. Oh my gosh! Really! And she loves my clothes too. I actually dress very casual most days for the convenience and comfort. So that’s why we can share clothes. But don’t let that fool you. I can look pretty if given the proper effort on good days. 😉
As I gazed at K in denial, I started to think about random future situations that we may experience as mother and daughter.
Here are 10 off the top of my head:
- sharing clothes
- talking about boys
- shopping for feminine products
- staying up late
- watching chick flicks
- traveling abroad
- going out on the town
- reading romance novels
- being coffee buddies
What will you look forward to as your child grows older?
But for now, I am cherishing every baby moment until the next chapter in our lives.
